the nail clipper story

never thought this would be possible, but as all things have a first; yesterday evening was definitely a first of this kind of adventure. personal hygiene is usually something most people are, well should, be concerned with. well, while trying to maintain my hygiene, as any other reasonable person would, i tried (key point ‘tried’) to cut my nails with the first nail clipper i managed to get my hands on. while i was concentrating on the task at hand, the unthinkable happens. the bottom part of the clipper gives up the fight and a clear break occurs. i’m left with half a nail cut and the other half holding on for dear life while caught in the jaws of a now broken clipper. good thing i found a ‘stronger’ clipper within minutes, however i guess all things can be broken given the right conditions.

may 11th

well that’s the day the ‘proud’ romanian team under the directions of their ‘great’ coach (not worth mentioning his name) will take on france. should be a game not to be missed. and no, not because i think mutu’s servants will stand a chance, but rather because i’m expecting a lot of goals into ‘the cat’s’ net. after the embarrassing result a few weeks back, the team somehow still finds it worth while to mention they have a chance of beating france. i guess old habits die hard. professionalism is something the national team always lacked. so this coming saturday another nail should be added to the coffin of romania’s chances to visit south africa in 2010. then again, perhaps i’m wrong; given the players have more than enough funds to take their vacation and purchase some tickets to the world cup games in 2010.

nhl is set to begin

it’s that time of the year again, the nhl is about to start; well, it’s about to start in north america. because for the second time in two years they’ve opened the season in europe. i truly wonder what they’re thinking; although, if you were to listen to the league they would like to have one big ‘happy’ world league. it’s sort of scratching your right side of the head with your left hand if you’d ask me, but then again they seem to think it’s a good idea. afterall, the time zones are just that, time. the distance between the cities shouldn’t be that big. so why not take an already losing league to europe and expand in a second market that simply more interested in football (soccer for all you north americans).

nevertheless, hockey season should be in full swing tonight. the ‘nucks are playing and if you were to listen to the team it’s as if they were already playing in the final. i guess the past is not an indicator of the future, that’s if you don’t know their history. regardless, i will be watching; afterall, we all need entertainment. finger crossed and hope for the best. hope that bobby lou will be able to build his fortress wall strong enough to stop the avalanche of pucks towards the net this year and somehow the team will squeak into the playoffs.
