thank you

it’s a simple gesture, two simple words stated showing appreciation. two simple words that most forget they exist. regardless of the situation, most of us forget to take the two seconds it takes to simply say ‘thank you’ to someone that has the very least responded to our request. it doesn’t take that much, and it does at least in my opinion provide positive reinforcement to the ones around us that we at least appreciate their response to our request. it’s not something we should perhaps expect, but it’s something that will bring a smile on our faces if we receive it. a simple wave of a hand when the driver in traffic breaks so that you can ‘cut in’. a simple statement when someone stops in the hallway and lets you pass seeing that you’re in a hurry. a simple response to an answer to a question that you have in regards to a problem that arises. so why is it that most people can’t find it in their heart to simply show recognition when it’s that person that request a service in the first place. most people will definitely just over look the lack of recognition, but i’m certain they will offer an answer with a lot more enthusiasm next time something is asked of them.
