and just when you thought that after 18 years the fireworks lighting up the summer skies over downtown vancouver were about to come to an end…the update came in today (march 11). due to financial issues it was announced that the annual firework show (hsbc celebration of light) will be canceled for 2009, however it has found its much needed sponsors. the shortage…a mere $400,000. thus…this year…there will be fireworks!

the schedule is as follow…canada kicks it off on july 22, followed by south africa on the 25th and the united kingdom closing up the july portion on the 29th; while on august 1 its china’s turn to show its might. enjoy vancouver…for you never know…this might be the last of the lights
