i’m certain most will agree that a wrong turn most times will lead to some sort of a regrettable occurrence. of course, that would depend on what kind of occurrences one considers regrettable. well, last night, as i was heading towards hwy 1 trying to make it home at a ‘decent’ hour, i mistakenly entered the hwy and headed eastbound. well, i was intending to head westbound to actually get home. realizing to late that i’m about to head towards ‘india’ (surrey for those of you who are not aware with the gvrd), had no choice in the matter anymore and pressed the gas heading for the first exit so that i can turn around and go home.
get off the hwy on the first exit, make somewhat of an ‘legal’ u-turn and head back towards the hwy. fully aware that i have to head westbound, i correctly identify the lane leading towards it. suddenly all i see is a long line-up of cars, essentially stopped, waiting, as yours truly, to enter hwy 1. well it’s saturday night, about 11:45pm by then, and in order to enter the hwy you had to pass, successfully, through a road block by surrey’s finest. who would have thought, road block, saturday night in surrey. good thing was that i didn’t drink, well didn’t drink alcohol that is. bad thing, wasted 30 more minutes before i had my chance to answer ‘no’ to the officer’s question of ‘any alcohol tonight?’.
on my way, no major upsetting news, however quite a good laugh between myself and my sister. considering a small ‘detour’ could have in the end meant quite a long night.
